Covid certificate in Ibiza: when it will be required and for what

Balearics extends the use of covid certificate to activities with a high concentration of people, especially bars and restaurants

On Monday, the Govern approved the extension of the use of the covid certificate for certain activities. The spokesperson, Iago Negueruela, explained at a press conference after the meeting held with the Social Dialogue Table in which areas the document will be required.

The covid certificate will be required when Balearic Islands is in health alert level 1, 2 and 3. In each of these, it will be required for different activities with a high concentration of people.

Level 1

It will be required in nightclubs, function rooms, dance halls and in all activities associated with nightlife. It will also be required in nursing homes. In addition, its use is extended to the interiors of bars, restaurants and other catering establishments with a capacity of more than 50 people indoors. In bars and restaurants with covered terraces, the use of the Covid certificate will be considered separately: it will be required indoors for more than 50 people and for more than 50 people on the covered terrace.

Level 2

The Covid certificate will also be required for accommodation where customers share a room: hostels or shelters and other tourist establishments with shared spaces.

Level 3 or higher

The use of the Covid certificate is extended to cinemas, tented circuses, dance schools and gyms.

The Balearic Islands are currently at level 1. This Friday, the Govern will review the health situation on the islands.

The measures are expected to come into force once they have been approved by the Balearic High Court of Justice (TSJB) and published in the BOIB. The Govern intends for them to come into force from next Saturday, 4th December and remain in place until 24th January 2022.
