The 1st Ibiza Slow Burger competition kicks off in Vila

20 restaurants in Ibiza participate in the Ibiza Slow Burger contest organized by the City Council

The 1st Ibiza Slow Burger gastronomic contest starts Saturday in 20 restaurants in the city of Ibiza. This contest, called by the City Council a month ago so that all establishments in the municipality interested in participating could register, has the collaboration of Pimeef and Eating in Ibiza, of Fomento del Turismo.

The initiative, which aims to promote the offerrings of the restaurants and chefs of the municipality based on this popular dish, has 20 participating establishments among which are 180 Grados Slow Burger Gastrobar, CBbC Ebusus Restaurant, Dilo, Elocogic, Ficus, Hard Rock Cafe Ibiza, La Cava, Locals Only, Loco Taco, Lotsabage, Lydia’s Smokehouse, Mikasa Restaurant, Oli Port, PIGRO, Reart, Simbiosis, Restaurante Jara (The Standard Ibiza), The Booo and Va Bene.

All offerings submitted to the Ibiza Slow Burger contest can be enjoyed until November 30th in two formats, depending on the choice of the establishment, a miniburger for a maximum price of 8 euros or a complete with a maximum price of 20 euros, with a drink included in all cases. In addition, you can find vegan recipes, burgers made with fish and various culinary options that, in most cases, feature local products.

The Ibiza Slow Burger judges

The judges assigned to decide the winning recipe is made up of Pedro Matutes, president of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy of Ibiza as president, Óscar Molina, chef of the Nesga and who has a Michelin star, María José Amengual, lawyer and collaborator of the blog ‘Directo al Paladar’, in addition to promoting her own recipe blog ‘Dit i Fet’, Ruth Alejandre, journalist and director of ‘Gastrogurú’ and Jesús Trujillo, CEO & Founder of Facefoodmag. All the evaluations of the specialist jury will join those of the general public, who can also leave their opinion on the City Council website https://turismo.eivissa.es/

The winning establishment of the Ibiza Slow Burger contest will have the opportunity to participate and attend the Madrid Fusion gastronomic fair. In addition, it will receive a trophy engraved with its name and a traditional Ibizan knife made by the last master matancer of Ibiza, Juan Bonet.
