The National Police have arrested five young people in Ibiza as alleged perpetrators of a crime of injury and serious threats, according to the police itself in a statement.
Three detainees are of legal age, all male, 19 years old and of British origin. The other two are minors. Apparently, according to the accounts of several workers and witnesses, on June 11, the five youths had assaulted in a struggle several workers of a shipping company because they prevented them from boarding to return to Ibiza from Formentera.
Service was denied because they were in a very aggressive state and had broken an inflatable “kayak” type boat for which they did not want to take responsibility. In the fight they even dislocated the shoulder of one of the workerss, according to the medical report.
These individuals, already on the very day of their arrest, had previously been at the offices of the shipping company displaying bladed weapons and shouting intimidating phrases and serious death threats at the complainants, leaving the place when they realized that the police were arriving.
They then began the pursuit of one of the workers with whom they happened to cross paths, continuing with the threatening gestures and phrases and gesticulating to make them understand that they were going to shoot him. This worker, upon realizing that the vehicle was following him, upon recognizing the individuals and hearing the threats against him, began to shout in fear “someone call the police!”, thus attracting the attention of a police call sign who was in the area, precisely, commissioned by the call that alerted of the presence of these individuals moments before in the office of the company.
The arrest finally took place in the public street offering active resistance on the part of the individuals who first tried to flee, forcing the agents together with the rest of the National Police Citizen Security officers to undertake a chase until they intercepted the vehicle.
When their vehicle was overtaken and blocked, the same maintained their attitude until finally the agents proceeded to arrest them as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of serious threats and injury.
The three young men of legal age, have been taken into custodyfor the prosecution of the facts described and denounced by the workers, victims of the injuries and serious threats, as well as for the damage caused to the boat. The minors were handed over yesterday to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
