Ibiza Global Festival | Festival charges €5,000 for DJ slot

This event gathers thousands of electronic music lovers on the beach of s'Arenal de Sant Antoni for two summers and is promoted as a free and sustainable festival

“If artists need to pay to DJ, sorry guys, you’re idiots!”. That’s how radical French technho DJ and music producer Arnaud Le Texier has been, sharing on his social networks an image of an email allegedly sent by Ibiza Global Festivalwhere asks for 5,000 euros to the djs who want to play at the party that is organized annually since 2022 in Sant Antoni.

“The price to DJ at the festival is 5,000 euros,” explains this mail that, according to denounces Arnaud Le Texier, received by one of his students interested in participating in the festival.

“It includes the time slot and all the promotion before and after the festival in all our media and international press office. If you are interested, I will offer you more information. The opportunity is huge, but we understand that it comes at a considerable cost and we need to make sure it is a kind of investment that you are ready to make. Please let me know if you have any questions,” the email concludes.

The dj has shown on the networks his anger with the world of electronic musiche was told by one of his students that he was being asked for this amount to play at the festival, instead of being able to get paid for his work. “The electronic music world has reached a new low. One of my students submitted his application for this festival and received in return a request for 5,000 euros. What the hell?” posted Arnaud Le Texier.

The post has received hundreds of comments on Facebook along the same lines: “Getting better and better, we’re hitting rock bottom! Hard to believe”, “Ridiculous”, “The beginning of the end”, “Weren’t you supposed to get paid for poking!!!!”, “Nothing new, horrible practice…. how do you think wannabes get to play big festivals these days?”, “Didn’t you know? Most of them work this way, they pay to get fame”.

Faze magazineone of the most important techno music magazines in Europe and the number one in Germany, has echoed the news.

This event gathers thousands of electronic music lovers on the beach of s’Arenal de Sant Antoni for two summers and is promoted as a free and sustainable festival.
