At least 6 arrested for the robbery of the house where football player Verratti was staying on Ibiza during a party

Policía Nacional arrest two people in Denia, four in Malaga and recovers Verretti's stolen jewelry and watches

They broke into the Ibiza villa owned by former Real Madrid and Brazilian national team player Ronaldo Nazário, where the Italian Paris Saint Germain player Marco Verratti is staying, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Jewelry and watches valued at about three million euros were taken, as well as 10,000 euros in cash, property of the Italian midfielder Verratti. The Policía Nacional arrested two of the robbers on Tuesday in the port of Denia (Alicante) when they got off the ferry in a car they had used to leave the island.

When they were arrested, the thieves had a large part of the loot with them, as CASO ABIERTO, the investigation and events channel of Prensa Ibérica, has learned from sources of the investigation. They had hidden it in a false bottom fitted in the car.

The arrested criminals are part of a gang of Albanians and Spaniards dedicated to robbing homes and who already had previous recored in our country for similar acts.

The robbery was audacious, as CASO ABIERTO has learned. The thieves entered through some windows that were open in the upper part of the villa, a luxury house in Cala Jondal, in the town of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. Downstairs and in the garden area a small party was taking place. In attendance was Marco Verratti, Ronaldo’s guest, with his partner, as well as other friends.

Neither they nor the four members of the private security service of the house realized what was happening upstairs. The thieves stripped only the upper part of the villa and left without a trace.

Gang leaves the island

The Albanian-Spanish gang then decided to take the loot off the island. Two of its members boarded a car on the ferry to Denia. When they arrived at the port of La Marina, in the city of Alicante, agents from the Central UDEV of the Policía Nacional were waiting for them. They stopped them and searched their car. There were watches and jewelry that, in the absence of a definitive comparison, are those stolen from Ronaldo’s house.

The police operation is still open to try to arrest the rest of the members of the gang and to leave if they chose the footballer’s villa at random among other luxurious vacation homes on the island or if they had prior information and went specifically to rob it.
