The forest fire that broke out on Wednesday afternoon, shortly before 6pm in the area of Sant Josep was extinguished by 7:45pm, as confirmed by the Institut Balear de la Natura (Ibanat) on its official Twitter account.
Around 5:50pm, Ibiza firefighters received multiple calls from individuals alerting that in a wooded area of Sant Josep, there was a large column of black smoke.

Ibanat agents were the first to arrive on the scene in Can Pep Ramonet, as they themselves posted on their Twitter account. When the firefighters arrived, the fire seemed to be under control, so at first they were going to leave, as stated by the Insular Park. However, when they arrived at the main focus of the fire, they realized that the fire had started in a landfill, so they stayed working since the burning of waste is the responsibility of the firefighters, they explained.
