“Out of his mind”, this is how some passengers relate the attitude of a man during the easyJet Manchester – Ibiza flight this Thursday.
According to The Sun, the plane had to divert from its route and land in Paris to remove the violent passenger from board and be arrested by the French police.
Flight EZY2027 from Manchester to Ibiza was diverted Thursday morning to Paris Charles de Gaulle due to a passenger “behaving violently” on board, easyJet confirmed to The Sun.
According to reports, the British was “out of his mind.” at 5:40 a.m., insulting and threatening other passengers on the plane.
Some witnesses claim that the flight crew assured them that it would cost the airline £20,000 (about €24,000) to land, take off again and rejoin the flight path.
Unsuccessful attempt to calm him down
The rowdy passenger, dressed in shorts and a hooded sweatshirt, was escorted off the plane in Paris and met by police officers waiting for him on the tarmac, before the plane took off a second time for Ibiza.
Apparently, the troublemaker, in addition to insulting passengers and crewhe started kicking the seats and the flight attendants’ attempts to calm him down had no effect.
An easyJet spokesman told the British media outlet: “easyJet cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
