Petra Irene Höntzsch, a renowned translator, interpreter, and editor from Ortrand, Germany, passed away at 75 in Sant Agustí, Ibiza. She deeply loved the island’s culture and nature since moving there in the late ’70s. Petra was known for her translations and editorial work in various languages, including her contributions to the ‘Ibiza Zeitung’ and ‘La Guía de Ibiza y Formentera’. She was admired for her mix of German precision and Ibizan warmth, often participating in local traditions and celebrations. Petra’s life and work significantly impacted the community, remembered for her unique blend of cultures and dedication to her craft. A wake will be held in her honor this Wednesday from 1:30 pm.
