Three men arrested for stealing up to five luxury watches in Ibiza

As reported Friday by the Armed Institute, after receiving several complaints about thefts of high-end watches in nightlife areas of Sant Antoni y Sant Josep the Guardia Civil initiated the investigation in order to identify the perpetrators of five robberies executed with the same modus operandi.

Specifically, the way of carrying out the robbery was that one of the men approached the victim and, with a jerk, snatched the watch, fleeing immediately from the place.

Upon investigating the facts, the civil guards discovered that it was a group of three individuals, of Maghrebi origin, who had their residence set in the town of Tarrasa and that they moved expressly to Ibiza to commit the robberies.

Once the robberies were carried out, the alleged perpetrators would return home to sell the stolen watches on the black market.

After being located in Ibiza, the men were arrested at es Codolar airport, moments before boarding a flight to Barcelona.

Among the belongings of one of them, the agents found four high-end watches that had been stolen days before.

Subsequently, civil guards from Baleares displaced to Tarrasa town found in one of the domiciliary searches 16.300 euros.

Finally, the alleged thieves were brought to court, where two of the three detainees were sent to prison.
