The Guardia Civil has arrested a woman, of South American origin and 24 years of age, for steal two high-end watches in the house where he worked in Sant Josep.
The owner of the watches became aware of the theft on the morning of December 7, at which time he went to the Guardia Civil in Sant Josep to report it. The man suspected the housekeeper as she was the only one who had access to the house. In addition, the man knew that the maid intended to leave the island that same day. At that moment, the agents who picked up the complaint established contact with the airport agents to prevent the woman from leaving with the watches.
The Guardia Civil agents at the airport set up discreet surveillance services and found the woman at the check-in counter. They then searched her belongings, and found inside her suitcase one of the watches, valued at €11,500.
For this reason, the agents arrested her as the alleged perpetrator of a theft crime and the watch was returned to its owner.
