A 66-year-old woman, resident on the island, has died after being run over on Camí es Novells, near the junction with Camí de Perella, in the municipality of Santa Eulària, on Saturday 13th at around six in the evening, according to the Guardia Civil. The driver of the vehicle fled.
The City Council of Santa Eulària has reported that a patrol of the Local Police was sent to the scene after receiving a tip-off, but they could not do anything for the woman, who had already died, as this newspaper has learned. The Civil Guard is investigating the facts.
Autopsy
The autopsy to determine the cause of death will be will take place this Monday according to sources close to the family of the deceased. When the vehicle fled the scene, the left no traces on the road after allegedly running over the woman and only through the autopsy will it be possible to confirm that it was a hit and run, although the blows on the victim’s body could confirm it, according to the same sources.
The family has made an appeal in case someone has been able to see something that could help to clarify the facts.
