The news has come as a real surprise: the Santa Eulària Town Hall has ordered the closure of the decoration store Sluiz. The Consistory alleges, as published today in Diario de Ibiza, that one of the reasons for this decision is that the activity that takes place in this establishment does not conform to its licensewhich is for restaurants. In addition, the closure is motivated by a series of extensions on rural land without a permit and by the detection of serious risks for the people attending the establishment.
Santa Eulària has given 48 hours to make the closure effective the owners of Sluiz have complied, but not before making some noise.
24-hour party and free drinks
A few hours after learning of the decision of the City Council, in the sluiz’s social networksthe business announces, with a photograph showing a woman doing the ‘peineta’ with her handthe store will be open non-stop until Wednesday at noon, when it is scheduled to close. Until then, Sluiz promises a party and music, and an invitation to a drink to anyone who buys a product.
The publication also reads: “The number 1 creative place on the island, the most original concept store in the world, an independent family business that builds everything from scratch, on its own, without the help of a major company, is now closing its doors. No, we haven’t done anything extremely unusualand yet we are thrown out, cold-bloodedly, with 50 employees as shocked as we are. Whoever orchestrated this and benefits from such low business practices? shame on them!”
