The fusion of the scarce rain of this Sunday with the rays of sunshine have made Ibiza dawn with this beautiful image: a double rainbow. The sequence of colors could be seen early in the morning from different points of the island.
The rainbow is a optical meteorological effect which is generated by the reflection and scattering of light through raindrops. The path of the sun’s rays is deflected as if it were a reflector, emitting a diverse chromatic range at different angles. In this case, the double rainbow is produced when the sun’s rays make at least two refractions and three internal reflections due to their contact with the water droplets. The result is the formation of a secondary rainbow of reversed colors.
According to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), this Saturday it will not rain anymore in Ibiza and temperatures will remain stable with highs of 21 degrees. The rains will return to the island tomorrow Monday and will remain until Friday. In addition, this week, meteorologists warn, both maximum and minimum temperatures will begin to drop.
