The companies organizing the Ibiza Glogal Festival have explained in their social networks why they charge 5,000 euros for a dj slotat the event to be held at s’Arenal beach in Sant Antoni this summer. Sunset and Ibiza Global Radio have issued a statement in which they want to make clear to their listeners, djs and the community in general “a misunderstanding that has arisen in connection with this important event”.
This week, a French techno dj and producer, Arnaud Le Texier, denounced on social networks that a student of his had been asked for such an amount for a dj slot at this festival.
First of all, they have emphasized that from Ibiza Global Radio they have always offered djs “the possibility to promote their career, even those who were completely unknown and after a few years have achieved international success”.
“IGR is always and has always been at the side of artists, whether they are famous or not. For this reason we launched an electronic music festival from Ibiza to the world, in which all the inhabitants of the island and all its visitors are welcomed for free”, explains the statement.

The organizers point out that from the festival they carry out “a three-month comprehensive campaign designed to significantly boost the professional profiles of lesser-known DJs.”
They go on to explain that this campaign includes:
Promotion during the season: “we guarantee visibility and reach through our platforms, which include radio, TV, social networks and our communication channels”. Recording and delivery of exclusive videos: “we record, perform and produce professional audiovisual content for djs to share and use in their own channels. These videos, recorded with five professional cameras plus a drone, have a higher cost than the campaign itself”. Presence in the press: “we facilitate media coverage on websites, music blogs and other relevant media, such as the written press”. Performance at the festival: “DJs have the opportunity to perform at the Ibiza Global Festival alongside renowned international DJs of prestige who participate in the event to show their support for the electronic music industry in Ibiza. At this point we have to emphasize that Ibiza is a global showcase for any artist who is dedicated to electronic music professionally. This in itself is invaluable”. Appearance on posters, billboards: “the djs will be highlighted in our promotional materials alongside renowned figures of the music industry”.

“An investment in the dj’s career.”
The organizers claim that this “campaign represents an investment in the dj’s career” similar to those that many artists make through different media such as advertisements or advertorials in magazines or paid radio programs. “It is a common and effective strategy to increase the professional profile of any dj.”continues the note.
On the other hand, they state that “the power of the Ibiza brand is in itself, a value that we must take care of and appreciate” and that the festival is held “on one of the most famous islands in the world, in one of the most important tourist towns in the world, with the production of a show never seen before on the island in a free event”.
They also emphasize that the festival “is completely free” for anyone who wants to come to have fun and enjoy the music of Ibiza Global Radio.
The organizers assure that the djs who participate in this festival “acquire a recognition and worldwide visibility immediate wood. This is demonstrated in previous editions with other artists who have participated in the event.”
In the networks have been shared, in addition, some ‘memes’ that joke about the issue of an artist paying for DJing instead of charging.
Faze magazineone of the most important techno music magazines in Europe and the number one in Germany, echoed the news.
