Ibiza breaks its record high temperature record for January

Thursday kicks off with a sunny start and seasonably high temperatures

Ibiza has broken its record for maximum temperatures in this episode of unusual heat that the islands are experiencing this January. The municipality of Sant Joan recorded 25.4 degrees yesterday, beating its previous record of 24.8 degrees reached in 2021, with records since 2005, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The rest of the island’s municipalities also recorded high temperatures: 22 degrees in Sant Antoni and Ibiza; 20 degrees in Formentera and 18 degrees at Ibiza airport.

As for the minimumlast night Sant Joan reached 6 degrees, followed by Ibiza (8 degrees), Sant Antoni (9 degrees), Ibiza airport (11 degrees) and Formentera (12 degrees).

For the weekend the Aemet forecasts skies with clear skies and clouds, a slight increase in minimum temperatures (which will be above 10 degrees) and a slight decrease in maximum temperatures (between 18 and 21 degrees).

Longer days
