Assault, attempted hit-and-run, and theft of watch from footballer in Ibiza

The theft of luxury watches in Ibiza is a practice that starts at the same time as the season. The most common modus operandi is that two thieves go on a motorcycle and with the method of the pull, in a few seconds, tear the watch from the wrist of the victim to flee with his vehicle.

As explained by La Repubblica, the Sampdoria defender, Cristiano Piccinitold of a traumatic experience he had last Saturday in Ibiza.

Piccini was the victim of an attack by criminals, stealing his watch in the area of Paseo Marítimo, in the center of Ibiza. An experience that he told on his Instagram profile: “Hello everyone, I am writing to warn you and so that what happened to me today does not happen to you. I was walking in Marina Botafoch [refiriéndose al paseo Joan Carles I], in front of the Ibiza Gran Hotel, when I was attacked by two people, at 15.15 hours. They were two Italians, from the accent I am almost sure they were Neapolitans. They attacked me from behind and stole my watch. I reacted quickly and managed to get to the thief who was getting on the motorcycle. His friend tried to run over my wife and then tried to run over me to get me to let his sidekick go. I was not able to get my watch back. The most important thing is that my family and I are fine, without a scratch. What bothers me the most is that this island, which is my home to me, is full of these scoundrelswho act without control and without scruples in any circumstance, regardless of whether you are with children or not. Not to mention the people who witnessed the robbery and didn’t bother to help. That said, if you are thinking of coming to Ibiza, be careful what you bring, nowadays we can’t feel comfortable anywhere”.

“I apologize to the Neapolitans.”

Despite the numerous messages of solidarity he received on social networks, the footballer was “accused” of pointing the finger at Neapolitans. In fact, a few hours after the story, Piccini posted a new story in which he wrote: “I apologize to the Neapolitan people for bringing up the subject, it was not my intention to lump everyone together. I have many Neapolitan friends and It’s a town I love, full of good and big hearted people. My intention with the above stories is only to prevent episodes of this type.”
