The Condé Nast Traveler Spain, United States, United Kingdom and India today announced the winners of the annual list that reveals the best new hotels around the world. Of the 96 hotels that made the cut, four are from the Balearic Islands; Six Senses and Oku, both on Ibiza, Can Ferrereta, in Santanyí, Mallorca, and Cristine Bedfor, on Menorca.
This is the Hot List 2022 published annually by the travel magazine. The 26th edition of this list has been created by the seven Traveler editions in the world. India, China, United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Middle East and Spain.
Travel – not just hotels
In addition, because travel is not just about going to a hotel, in 2022 Condé Nast Traveler has opened up the scope and the list now includes restaurants, culture, transportation and cruises that travel lovers need to know about, with a special focus on destinations that are reinventing themselves. Unfortunately, Ibiza does not appear on these lists. From the Balearic Islands, only Menorca has risen as one of the best destinations of 2022.
Madrid and Menorca, among the top 9 worldwide destinations on the Hot List 2022
This list highlights the best destinations to visit in 2022. Menorca is included in this selection, along with places like Madrid, Maine (USA), Piedmont, Qatar, Budapest, Mexico City, Istanbul and Saudi Arabia.
The publication makes a special mention to Menorca thanks to the cultural and artistic boost of the last few months after the opening of the Hauser & Wirth art center on the isla del Rey. In addition, it boasts of being European Region of Gastronomy 2022 and its luxury hotel offerings, with a clear commitment to sustainability, make it a destination for the present and the future.
