Adlib 2022: Ibiza’s fashion facing the stunning Marina

The Pasarela Adlib will be held on June 11th in es Martell. The presenter of Informativos Telecinco, Isabel Jiménez, will host the parade.

The 51st Pasarela Adlib will be held on June 11th in es Martell, in the port of Ibiza and next to the Marina district with the Mediterranean Sea as its main theme and inspiration. This is the first catwalk to be held without restrictions of any kind after the pandemic, and it will involve a total of 14 designers. The day before in front of the town hall of Santa Eulària there will also be an  Adlib Young Talents fashion show in which the six selected finalists will present their collections inspired by the style of this characteristic Ibizan fashion.

During the presentation of the 2022 Catwalk, the island’s Councilor for Economic and Business Promotion, María Fajarnés, could not help but get excited and described the location of the parade, next to the Marina district, as an “incomparable setting”, adding that “it is an emblematic district of Ibiza, which has seen the birth of part of Adlib fashion. Many designers have been inspired by its past linked to the sea and tradition”. Fajarnés also assured that the Marina area and the port “have a great future, and will be a unique setting”.

Attendance at the Catwalk will be unrestricted and entry will be free until full capacity is reached. So that no one misses any detail, several screens will be located throughout the port area. The most prominent models of the parade will be the Mallorcan Malena Costa, Nuria Rothschild -named best model of the last Fashion Week catwalk in Madrid-, Paula Williams, Lucia Lopez and the Ibizan Ana Vide. The host of the gala will be the journalist Isabel Jiménez, host of the Telecinco news and, according to Fajarnés, “passionate about slow fashion and respect for the planet”.

Media such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Vanity Fair are expected to attend the catwalk, and attendees will be invited to post their experience at the fashion show on social networks through the hashtags #adlibibibiza and #pasarelaadlib2022.

During the presentation, the councilor reaffirmed the Consell’s commitment to Adlib fashion: “It is important to protect and value something that is very much ours, since this is a fashion with Ibizan origins”.

Adlib plans parades with surprises

The presentation of the Catwalk was held on the terrace of the renovated hotel The Ibiza Twiins, in es Viver, with fabulous views and under the glorious sunshine. The designers who will participate in the Pasarela did not miss the event. One of them was Toni Bonet, a designer who has become a symbol of the revival of Adlib in recent years, and who announced that he is preparing a very surprising parade : “It’s called Toni Bonet Yofémina and in it I offer what is for me the new image of femininity, which combines a superlady style with another choni and chandalero”, and opting to “mix different styles, the fancy with the most street”. “We have to adapt to the new times, the new trends, soak ourselves with what comes from outside but without losing the craftsmanship or the love for the product made on Ibiza”, he explained.
