The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast extreme temperatures for Wednesday in the Balearic Islands, especially on the island of Mallorca, with maximum temperatures of between 32ºC and 38ºC, which could reach 39ºC in the municipality of Palma.
In their case, Ibiza and Formentera could reach maximum temperatures ranging between 32ºC and 35ºC, or occasionally 36ºC in the northwest of Menorca.
Very high fire risk
In view of this forecast, the Aemet has activated this Wednesday the yellow alert and has indicated that the rate of fire risk is extreme or very high in Menorca and Mallorcadue to moderate easterly wind and high temperatures.
As for the minimum recorded last night in the Balearic Islands, Banyalbufar (27º), Far de Capdepera (26ºC), Portocolom (26ºC), Palma Portopà (26ºC), Cabrera (25ºC) and la Mola (25ºC) have registered a torrid night, with thermometers that have not dropped below 25ºC.
