A 35-year-old woman died today at midday in an accident between a motorbike and a lorry on the Sant Josep road, at kilometre 10. The girl was a passenger on the motorbike with another young man, aged 27, who was also injured. The driver of the lorry, according to health sources, was not injured.
The collision took place around two o’clock in the afternoon at the intersection of the Sant Josep road that leads to the swimming pools and the paddle tennis court. The first to assist the injured were the medical staff of a medical transport carrying two elderly people. Then an auxiliary nurse from Can Misses Hospital stopped to help.
“We tried to revive the young woman, but she was already dead.” explains the nurse who stopped to help, to Diario de Ibiza. The young woman, “about twenty years old, had a shattered helmet and trauma to the right side of her head”.
The motorcycle with which they collided was “large displacement”, and according to the nurse’s aide “was traveling at high speed”.
An ambulance of 061, the Local Police of Sant Josep and the Civil Guard have been sent to the scene of the accident.
“The situation was desperate because the medical transport did not carry the appropriate material to assist the accident,” says the doctor.
