The best weekend plans on Ibiza and Formentera

A weekend between the festival of Carthaginians and Romans and the jazz festival

This weekend has two major attractions on Ibiza: The festivities of Sant Antoni, which once again celebrate the battle between the Carthaginians and the Romans, and the Eivissa Jazz festival, in the bastion of Santa Llúcia de Dalt Vila.

The already traditional celebration of the Carthaginians and Romans begins this weekend on Friday afternoon with the children’s water party and will continue Friday and Saturday on the beach of s’Arenal de Sant Antoni. The climax, the batalla a tomatazos between the two armies, will take place on Saturday afternoon and will culminate with torrada and concerts on the beach.

The festivities of Sant Bartomeu also offer other activities this weekend, such as the Short Film Exhibition on Friday at Sa Punta des Molí, or the dance workshop New Moves, Saturday and Sunday at the sports center of ses Païsses.

The other extreme for the weekend is the Eivissa Jazz Festival, which began on Monday and lasts until Saturday. The last three days this weekend will feature the most anticipated concerts in the bastion of Santa Llúcia de Dalt Vila, with concerts such as the quintet of Javier Navas, the new edition of the Eivissa Jazz Experience, and the trumpeter Yazz Ahmed .

And the Dorado Live Shows return with the Depedro concert this Thursday at the Hotel Santos in Platja d’en Bossa. An artist who has visited Ibiza several times, where he has a large following.

Also the Ibizan singer Ángela Cervantes, accompanied by the double bass player Manel Fortià, offers a concert on Saturday, as part of the Badia de Portmany Festival this weekend, in the Auditori Caló de s’Oli.

The weekend plans can be completed with the events of the festivities of Sant Agustí or Jesús, or the charity gala of the Elena Torres Association for cancer research, held on Saturday at the Aguas de Ibiza hotel in Santa Eulària, with Manel Fuentes as master of ceremonies.
