The weather in Ibiza and Formentera for this week: polar and arctic air mass arrives

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a drop in temperatures and rain this week. From Tuesday onwards, a DANA (Isolated High Level Depression) will enter through the Cantabrian Sea, affecting the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands in the following days, with cold air, first polar and then arctic.

Aemet forecasts snowfall from this date that will last until Wednesday and Thursday with precipitation practically throughout the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. The east wind in the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals on Wednesday, will accentuate the feeling of cold, says Aemet.

From Friday the most likely is the entry of a mass of warmer air with a reduction of the areas affected by rainfall and a rise in temperature generalized except in the northeast.

Ibiza and Formentera

Monday’s day begins in the Pitiusas with yellow alert from 8 to 9 hours for coastal phenomena. The Aemet forecasts gusts of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour and waves of three to four meters.

The maximum gusts recorded in the last 24 hours have been 65 kilometers per hour at Ibiza airport; 62 kilometers per hour in Ibiza; 54 kilometers per hour in Sant Antoni and 51 kilometers per hour in Formentera.

The rest of the week, the cold will be the protagonist, with minimums that will reach three degrees on Friday and maximums that will not exceed 16 degrees.

Early this morning, minimum temperatures of 4 degrees have been recorded in Ibiza; 7 degrees at Ibiza airport; 8 degrees in Sant Joan; and 9 degrees in Sant Antoni and Formentera.

For this monday clear skies and minimum and maximum temperatures of 8 and 14 degrees are expected. The tuesday the weather will be alternately clear and cloudy and the snow level will be at 1,000 meters. The minimum and maximum temperatures will be 5 and 14 degrees.

Rains

The wednesday there will be precipitation, with a 90% chance of rain. The snow elevation will be between 1,100 and 1,300 meters above sea level. The minimum and maximum temperatures forecast for Wednesday will be 7 and 15 degrees.

El Thursday rain showers remain, with a 70% probability in the morning and 55% in the afternoon. Temperatures will drop to a minimum of 4 degrees. The maximum will not exceed 15 degrees.

The precipitation forecast continues on fridaywith a 55% chance of showers. Temperatures continue to drop to 3 degrees minimum and 15 degrees maximum.

The ssaturday the sun will be out again and the expected minimum and maximum temperatures will be 5 and 16 degrees.
