An operator who was working on a construction site, a man from spanish nationality and 54 years of age suffered a work-related accident at around 2:00 a.m. this afternoon, when he was installing an electrical transformer in a hotel in Port de Sant Miquel (municipality of Sant Joan), as reported by the firefighters of Ibiza.
The worker was placing the machinery together with other employees of the electrical installation company where he works when the structure fell on him, leaving him completely trapped the Island Park reports.
His companions lifted, not without effort, the transformer to try to free the man, who could barely move. However, although they managed to remove the contraption, the rest of the construction was too heavy.
The Consell firefighters went to the scene of the accident with four personnel and a corporal who arrived with a fire truck, they said. On arrival, they released the victim, who presented several fractures in one of his arms and in one leg.
