A couple of French tourists have reported the theft of their belongings on Ibiza while they were checking out to leave their accommodation in Vila where they were staying, and return to their country.
According to the complaint, which the couple filed on Tuesday with the Policía Nacional, the value of the stolen goods exceeds 17,800€, 8,000€ of them in cash, and more than 9,800€ in jewelry and objects of varying value. In addition, the two tourists lost credit cards, travel documents, the keys to a vehicle and two properties.
Theft by man pretending to look at information
The theft occurred after 5pm on Monday afternoon in the lobby of a four-star hotel located near the port of Ibiza and was recorded by the surveillance cameras of the establishment. When the couple left their handbag unattended, the man approached them while pretending to look at an information leaflet and, after making sure there were no witnesses, grabbed the bag and left.
