The National Police in Ibiza have arrested two 31-year-old men, one of Belgian nationality and the other of Moroccan nationality, for the theft of a high-end watch valued at 50,000 euros. According to police reports, they kept the objects they allegedly stole in the attics of the bathrooms of the hostel where they were staying, along with different quantities of various drugs.
UDEV group agents of the Ibiza police station began investigating the robbery with violence of a high-end watch on Monday, and on Tuesday arrested the two men after locating them in Sant Antoni. “The agents went through the streets of the municipality several times and saw the two men they suspected. One of them was wearing the same cap he was wearing on the day of the robbery, so they stopped them and detained them,” the police explain. Apparently, one of those arrested may have committed several similar robberies in other municipalities
The following day, the police searched the room of the hostel where they were staying. The Guardia Court authorized it and, during the search, which was carried out in the presence of the lawyer of the administration of justice and with the support of Citizen Security officers from the police station, all the clothes worn by the men on the day of the robbery were found.
The common areas of the hotel
Once the search of the room was completed, the agents searched the common areas of the hostel, and found in the attics of the bathrooms ketamine, cocaine, hashish, ecstasy, MDMA, six high-end watches, and a cell phone the provenance of which is under investigation.
“Police investigations remain open in case the detainees were involved in other criminal acts,” the police conclude.
