The National Police in Ibiza have arrested a Colombian man for growing marijuana inside the Ibiza cemetery.
The plantation, according to a police press release, consisted of individual pots. The agents confiscated fifty plants weighing more than six kilos.
The arrest, according to the statement, was on Wednesday at seven o’clock in the evening, at which time the Udyco agents caught the alleged perpetrator getting out of his car. “The man took advantage of when the cemetery was closed to jump over the wall and water the plants with water from the holy field,” the police said.
On the other hand, the agents also confiscated a precision scale and 46 grams of marijuana from him that he was carrying inside the car, so they suspect that the crop was intended for drug trafficking.
The detainee has already been placed at the disposal of the Examining Magistrate’s Court.
