International Influencers Awards organizer waives the money from the Consell de Ibiza

The company says it will assume "the full costs" of the International Influencers Awards after the controversy generated by some of the guests' publications

The organizer of the International Influencers Awards has just announced that it is renouncing the sponsorship of the Consell de Ibiza, with whom it had signed two contracts for a maximum of 95,000 euros for the promotion of the ‘Ibiza’ brand and Adlib fashion. The organization has taken this decision after the controversy generated by some of the publications shared by the guests at the event, which was held between June 3rd and 6th, with about 40 national and foreign content influencers nominated in the first year of the awards. The sponsorship, in fact, was up in the air precisely because of the image of the island that had been transmitted by the protagonists of the event

International Influencers Awards aimed to promote Ibiza

“After issuing a statement clarifying the nature and purpose of the International Influencers Awards and apologizing for certain individual attitudes of some of the attendees, the organization of this project has decided to renounce the entire public sponsorship,” reads the statement sent this afternoon by the communication department of the International Influencers Awards. “This decision is the result of reflection and firm conviction in a project model whose central objective was none other than to disseminate and promote Ibiza as an international destination through new digital channels to position the island in the field of digital creators, given the powerful impact that their publications have on millions of people around the world,” continues the document.

Thus, the company announces that it will assume “the full costs of organizing the first year of the International Influencers Awards through its own funds and private sponsorships.” The contracts signed with the Consell, which supported the celebration of the meeting both in its launch and in the final gala, established a maximum sponsorship conditioned on promotion of the two brands. The company had to justify before August 6th that they had reached a profit of 105,000 euros in the case of Adlib and 310,000 in the case of Ibiza to receive those 100,000 euros, from the budget of Fairs and Congresses of Eivissa (Fecoev). In the event that 50% of these amounts were not reached, the company would receive nothing and between 50% and 100%, the proportional part would be paid to them.

“The is grateful for the support received from the Consell de Ibiza, as well as the effort and enthusiasm contributed by all private brands and entities that supported this initiative from the beginning,” explains the statement, which recalls that the International Influencers Awards “were conceived as an annual call to recognize the most outstanding digital content creators around the world for their ability to generate online impact. In fact, the influencers invited to the awards gala had more than 156 million followers on Instagram and more than 144 million on Tik Tok.
