Influencers forget the charity part of their paid vacations on Ibiza

The International Influencers Awards profile has barely raised 60 of the 5,000 euros it set out to raise for Ibiza Preservation.

A little more than 50 euros, a total of 60, is what the influencers who have spent the last weekend in Ibiza, enjoying a full paid vacation, have raised in the charity collection in benefit of Ibiza Preservation arranged by the organization of the International Influencers Awards. This is revealed by the Instagram profile of the event, which has an option, just under the details of its profile, to collaborate in the donation. On Monday night, just five euros had been raised, which yesterday afternoon rose to 60 euros, contributed by five people.

In other words, the 156 million followers on Instagram and the more than 144 million followers on Tik Tok that the invited influencers have added up to, have been of little use in view of the collection. In the profile of the awards, it “invites” those who “love” the Pitiusas to collaborate in the collection and, in addition, share the campaign to reach more people. Something that, reviewing the profiles of the dozens of content creators who have been on Ibiza and Formentera this weekend, they have not done. The only one who has made posts and stories about the importance of caring for the environment and tagging Ibiza Preservation has been the influencer specialized in yoga Xuan Lan. Not only did she share some images talking with biologist Manu San Félix, but she was also interested in the work of the foundation during the lunch and market they organized specifically for them at the agrotourism Atzaró. “They have been fighting for 14 years for more responsible tourism,” explains the yoga and meditation teacher in her profile, where she has also posted the collection. She has 20 euros of the 100 she has set out to raise.

What the influencers have shared…

The others have shared the fun parts. They have shared photos and videos sailing to Formentera, in the luxury hotels where they have stayed, beach clubs, succulent delicacies, discos, parties, doing their hair and make-up and even shopping in exclusive stores where the price of a handbag can far exceed the 5,000 euros marked on the collection counter. But about the environment, nothing at all. “The money raised will be used to support projects to protect and regenerate the land and sea of Ibiza and Formentera,” details the Ibiza Preservation in the explanation of the fundraiser.

That is, the influencers and their companions, because many came with a person they trust, do not seem to have collaborated with the initiative even with a few euros, small change compared to the cost of their three-day stay on the island. And the benefits they will get from it, since many have continued their work with labels and promote other events, services and products during their stay in the Pitiusas.
