The Regional Councillor for the Consell de Eivissa, Mariano Juan, explains that both nationals and foreigners publish illegal tourist rental ads on the different platforms. However, he assures that the latter are the “most professional and the ones who have the hardest time paying the fines. They tend to have several flats and are like a network”, he points out.
The other profile of illegal tourist rentals, Juan points out, is that of the Spaniard “who saw that nothing happened before when they rented out their apartment and, now that they are being fined, they are usually the ones who pay early with the corresponding reduction”.
