The Tourism Planning Commission of the Consell de Ibiza has approved eight projects to refurbish hotels and restaurants worth 11.3 million euros.
Of the projects two will result in an increase in category, so most of the work to be done consists of energy and water improvements, reported the highest island administration on Tuesday in a statement.
Accessibility improvements, charging points for electric vehicles, thermal and acoustic improvements and the creation of an orchard are other measures presented.
With these eight projects, which are in addition to the nine approved at the Tourism Planning Commission held in February, the investment now amounts to 22.8 million euros.
Total of 20 hotel and restaurant referbishments approved in 2021
Throughout 2021, a total of 20 projects were aproved with a total value of 52.2 million euros, which have improved hotels’ and restaurants’ quality of tourist services, energy efficiency, accessibility, safety and, “at the same time, have contributed to the economic reactivation”, as specified by the institution.
