The Balearic Government, trade unions and hospitality sector employers signed a two-year collective bargaining agreement affecting 35,400 workers on Ibiza, 3,500 on Formentera, 11,400 in Menorca and 109,000 in Mallorca. The agreement provides for a wage increase of 5% from April, followed by a cumulative increase of 3.3% in 2024. In addition, the agreement includes the regulation of workloads and training programs for the professionalization of the sector, which will require a €40m investment from the government. The signing was described as a “historic agreement” and all parties praised the government’s role as mediator.
