Hï Ibiza has received the award for Best Club in the World during the Golden Moon Awards Gala, which took place this Monday as part of the 9th Edition of the International Nightlife Congress, held in conjunction with the 4th Edition of the National Nightlife Congress at the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper Hotel. Hï Ibiza, inaugurated in 2017, has once again won this statuette, for the fourth consecutive edition, for “being the club with the best sound and lighting in the world and for having an unrivalled programme featuring the best DJs in the world”, as explained by the International Nightlife Association, organisers of the event. Omnia Las Vegas and Ushuaïa Ibiza have taken second and third place, respectively, in the prestigious list of ‘The World’s 100 Best Clubs’ 2023. Bootshaus, in Germany, and Shôko Barcelona, make up the Top 5 of this list. The Top 10 of the list is completed by Green Valley in Brazil (6), Opium Barcelona (7), DC-10 in Ibiza (8), E11even in Miami (9) and Pacha Ibiza (10).
Journalists Marc Cornet y Maria Moya were in charge of presenting this gala, which was attended by different national authorities, sector representatives from the five continents and presidents of different international associations of leisure and gastronomy.
La Feria Clubof Chile, has endorsed the award for the Most Sustainable Club for “using 35 photovoltaic generation panels to supply its entire energy consumption and reduce the use of plastic by up to 90%”, while the Spanish project Audiotec, which has a double objective: to attenuate noise from open areas such as terraces and to absorb harmful particles from the atmosphere to create environments with acoustic comfort and a high level of air quality, has received the award for Best Innovative Nightlife Project of 2023. The French producer and musician David Guetta has been recognized with the award for the Best DJ of the yearwhile the Barcelona City Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya have received the award for the Best Collaborative Action in Security within the nightlife sector, for the joint action carried out on the Barceloneta seafront, the busiest nightlife area in Europe.
The Bresh Party has received the award in the category of Best Event of 2023, while that of Best Festival has gone to Tomorrowlandwhich welcomes around 400,000 people each year. Since the International Nightlife Association have highlighted the “innovative, avant-garde and creative” character of both projects.
The award for the Best Customer and Worker Protection Action has gone to the club Sutton Barcelonathanks to its “good practice in the application of the ‘No Callamos’ protocol”, of the Barcelona City Council, and for the implementation of the ‘Ask For Angela’ protocol, promoted by the International Nightlife Association. The Best Business Group went to TAO Groupof the United States, for offering “premium culinary and entertainment experiences, with innovation and creativity at their core” and the Golden Moon Award to the Best New Artist went to the Dutch DJ Chelina Manuhutuone of the most promising artists on the world underground music scene”.
With the aim of giving this edition “a more Barcelona touch”, as explained from the International Nightlife Association, the awards of this year’s Golden Moon Awards, designed by the sculptor José Piñeroare inspired by the work of painter and sculptor Joan Miró. “Just as Miró captured his own universe and the dictates of his imagination in his work, our Golden Moon Awards capture the innovative spirit and diversity of Barcelona’s nightlife,” he said Joaquim Boadassecretary General of Fecasarm, Spain Nightlife and the International Nightlife Association, continued the employer’s leader.
With this great international awards gala and the celebration of the Michelin Guide stars in Barcelona, Barcelona is positioned as the cradle of leisure and gastronomy in the world.
Awards for excellence in the nightlife sector
The list of ‘The World’s 100 Best Clubs’ 2023 has been selected from a total of 373 nominated venues, from 65 different countries. The online popular vote accounted for 50% of the final vote, while the other 50% was determined by a jury composed of industry experts who evaluated the evolution of the venues this year, based on criteria such as music programming, safety, acoustics and quality of service, among other factors.
