The United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) has issued a call for assistance in tracking down one of the country’s most wanted fugitives, John James Jones, who is suspected to be hiding in Ibiza. Jones, born in 1990, is described as a white male with a stocky build, standing at 1.83 meters tall with dark hair.
According to the NCA, Jones is wanted for his alleged involvement in a violent stabbing incident on April 28, 2018, in which two individuals were severely injured. Evidence suggests that Jones fled the UK immediately after the event and spent the night in a Madrid hotel before departing the following morning.
The search for Jones is part of the NCA’s ongoing campaign, in partnership with Spanish security forces, to locate the UK’s most wanted fugitives. The campaign, launched in collaboration with the Home Office and Spanish police one year ago, aimed to track down 13 men who were believed to be hiding in Spain. Since then, six of the individuals have been apprehended and are undergoing various stages of the judicial and extradition process.
The NCA has joined forces with the independent charity Crimestoppers, Spanish law enforcement, and various UK police forces to renew the campaign this Monday. In addition to Jones, they are seeking assistance in locating six other fugitives who are believed to be hiding in Spain for crimes such as drug trafficking, injury, and robbery, among others.
