London opens to remove quarantine for those who are vaccinated

The hotel business association is "on hold" for what it regards as a step forward if it is confirmed.

The United Kingdom is enviously observing the open-minded approach of the EU to the resumption of internation travel this summer. A side effect of Brexit is that the British tourism sector now faces things alone. The Johnson Government is now contemplating the possibility that immunized travelers, with the complete vaccine schedule, can return from amber destinations, such as the Balearic Islands, without having to do mandatory quarantine.

The Daily Telegraph reported the news yesterday, which immediately spread like wildfire. It even had an effect on companies in the sector that are listed on the Spanish Stock Exchange, such as AENA and Meliá.

The Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca (FEHM) considered yesterday that it would be a step forward for the reactivation of tourism and the recovery of the British market this summer. However, very cautiously, in view of Johnson’s erratic tourism policy, no bells are being rung until it is confirmed, as the Minister of Health, Matt Hancock, has said: he is “open” to assessing this possibility.
