The 6th Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon with 43% female participation

The organization of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon promotes the presence of women with social network campaigns and talks.

The 6th Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon will be celebrated on April 1st and at least 43% of the participants are female according to the event organizers. Figures that make the event a benchmark event for female running enthusiasts. Two weeks ago the milestone of 2,500 registrations (both males and females) was surpassed.

This year the organization has launched the #MujeresRunnersIbiza campaign, “an initiative led by four athletes and with a common goal: to help real women meet their sporting goals”. In this sense, female participation is being promoted through campaigns on social networks, training plans and talks, among other means.

Campaigns to promote female participation in the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon

To understand this campaign you have to look at the project “Juntas Es Mejor”, by “Patri and Paula”, two social network content creators encouraging the participation of women in sports. The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon defines them as “passionate about physical exercise that (…) help women to overcome their sporting challenges on the condition that one day they help others to achieve theirs”. This project is part of the women’s campaign for this sportinng event, which features three distances (42K, 22K and 12K) and will bring together runners from all over the world. It will be held on April 1st in the evening, starting in Santa Gertrudis. After running through the natural landscapes of the interior of the island, the race will end at sunset on Paseo Marítimo de Santa Eulària des Riu.
