The Club Bàsquet Sant Antoni will play the final of the LEB Silver Cup, something that is an achievement for the entity of Portmany and a historical moment for basketball and for sport on the Pitiusas. The Ibizan basketball team already had the virtual passport for the cup final, but was pending the postponed game of the first round between Mi Arquitecto Benicarló and Cartagena, which was played this past Wednesday. The team from Castellón won, 75-67, with only eight points difference, but they had to overcome an advantage of 62 overall with Sant Antoni to be the finalists of the basketball Cup. Having failed to do so, the prize goes to the team coached by Carlos Flores, who are delighted after losing their last three league games. After finishing top of the East group in the first round, the Balearic side have a well-deserved reward.
The CBSA will play this LEB Silver Cup final on the weekend of 12 and 13 March. It remains to be seen whether the venue will be Amorebieta (Basque Country) or Torrelavega (Cantabria). Because the Ibizan team does not know who their opponent will be yet. It could be Teknei Bizkaia Zornotza or Grupo Alega Cantabria CBT. The Cantabrians still have a game pending from the first round, which they will play on 23 February against CAM Enrique Soler away in Melilla. If the Cantabrians win, they would be the finalists and would also host the title match.
