The Ibizan athletes Aritz Rodríguez and Irati Matas reached the top of the podium this Sunday in their respective categories in the V Sant Antoni 2022 Swim Channel Aquathlon, the first event of the Ibiza Aquathlon League, which was held at Caló des Moro, under the organization of the Trideporte Club, with a total of 49 finishers in the final event.
The two local competitors managed to take the victory in a competition that they led with great authority and confidence, which made them the stars of the 2022 Swim Channel Aquathlon held in Sant Antoni.

Aritz Rodríguez, representative of the Prat Triatló 1994, gave no options to his rivals in the senior male category and took victory quite easily and large margin over his immediate pursuers, after completing the race of a 2.5 km running segment and a 1,000-meter swim, with a final record at the finish line of 29:27 minutes.
Rafael Reyes crossed the finish line in second position, representative of the AD Ibiza Half Triathlon, who concluded his participation almost two minutes behind the winner with a time of 31:36 minutes, while the third step of the podium in the men’s race was occupied by Pablo Fernández, of the Club Ciclista Sant Antoni, who ended his performance with a time of 31:50 minutes.

Irati Matas wins 2022 Swim Channel Aquathlon by large margin
In the women’s race there was also no possible discussion before the resounding and uncontested victory of the independent triathlete Irati Matas, who took first place in the standings with a time of 35:12 minutes.
The Ibizan competitor ended up winning with some margin over the also local athlete Indre Barkute (AD Ibiza Half Triathlon), who was second to the finish area with a time of 36:24 minutes.
The third position went to Emma Boda (CE Triacademy), with a time of 37:31 minutes.
In the junior category races included in the Caló des Moro event, it is worth mentioning the triumphs of Joao Vithor Puigrós and Patricia Quirós, winners with a time of 17:43 and 18:14 minutes, respectively.
Joao Vithor Puigrós, a representative of the children’s category of the Club Triatló Porto Colom Herbes Tunel, had no competition along the 2.5 kilometers running course and 500 meters of swimming, and won the solo victory ahead of Toni Boned, from Sa Raval, who was second with 19:05 minutes, and Sergi Martín, from Triatló Porto Colom, who clocked 19:09 minutes.
