The US fund KKR has put three hotels up for sale in Ibiza and two others in Mallorca managed by the brand Alua. This is reported by the economic newspaper Cinco Días, which highlights the starting price of the operation as 140 million.
Refurbished hotels for sale
In May 2017 the fund acquired these establishments for approximately 100 million which it now wants to sell after having refurbished them. There are two located in Mallorca: Hotel Hawaï Mallorca & Suites, Palmanova Bay, and three Ibizan establishments: Intertur Hotel Hawaii Ibiza, Hotel Miami Ibiza and Apartamentos Miami.
Intertur Hotel Hawaii Ibiza is located in Sant Antoni, while Hotel Miami Ibiza and Apartamentos Miami are in es Canar (Santa Eulària).
KKR is a global private equity giant and manages properties valued at 55 billion euros. On the other hand, Alua is a company that currently operates 40 hotel establishments and is owned by Apple Leisure Group (ALG). Of these 40 establishments, six are located on Ibiza and are, in addition to those for sale, Hotel Cartago (Port de Sant Miquel), Hotel Galeón (Port de Sant Miquel) and Alua Soul Ibiza (es Canar). This last establishment is adults only, while the rest are focused on family tourism
