The plastic artist will visit the MACE on 13 October to talk about his work with Elena Ruiz Sastre

Guillermo Fornes (Bilbao, 1964) will visit the Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa (MACE) on 13 October at 7 p.m. to present his project Geria. The son of Guillermo Fornes Puget and grandson of Guillermina Puget will be accompanied at the event by the museum’s director, Elena Ruiz Sastre. In this publication, Fornes transfers to paper his new expanded art proposals with the creation of ephemeral land art approaches in line with his symbolic and social work.

‘Geria’ (Ediciones El Viso) contains original and graphic work together with images of Peter Viking of the creative process and texts by the curator and nature philosopher Dehlia Hannah and by art critic, curator, essayist and editor Dennys Matos.

With a degree in Psychology and Fine Arts, a career he studied at King’s College of Art in London, Guillermo Fornes lived for eight years in the British capital, where he established his first studio, and subsequently resided in different cities around the world.

In the works of this artist contrast the gestuality and expressiveness of the stain and the strength of color. Interested in experimentation and research of new supports and approaches, he carries out experimental works in expanded painting and land art.
