Discover the best plans for the weekend in Ibiza and Formentera

Nina Persson in Ibiza, on a weekend with lots of music

This weekend, music is the star of the entertainment and leisure activities scheduled in the Pitiüses. And not just because of a visit from The Cardigans singer, Nina Persson, who performs on Saturday in the Reina Sofía park in Vila. There is also an important date with jazz, with the Jazz Point festival, which opens this Thursday at the Pikes with saxophonist Muriel Grossmann and has a more than interesting line-up for the entire weekend. And for lovers of this style, on Sunday the new Caló de s’Oli auditorium in Cala de Bou will host a recital by the German pianist Joachim Kühn, who lives in Ibiza.

But it’s not just jazz. The Santa Teresa des Cubells festivities have scheduled two nights of concerts, on Friday with the American rock of Uncle Sal and the rockabilly of The Metrallas, and on Saturday with Soul Doctor and the Ibiza premiere of Jarabe de Pau, the first Jarabe de Palo and Pau Donés tribute band.

The programme is rounded out with the show ‘No Pleasure’, by Iker Karrera, as part of the Consell’s Dance Season, trans depathologisation theatre in Formentera, and for the little ones, ‘Safari’, at the Puig d’en Valls cultural centre and a magical storytelling on Saturday in Es Cubells, with Agustín Prades.
