The Ibiza-based artist is facing a second lymphoma after undergoing chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, describing the experience as one of the hardest moments of her life.

Ibiza-based DJ BJones has shared an emotional video on social media revealing the physical and emotional suffering she has endured following a new cancer diagnosis, just days after undergoing a bone marrow transplant. Visibly distressed, sitting in a wheelchair and struggling to hold back tears throughout parts of the recording, the artist describes the devastating impact of a disease she has been fighting since the beginning of the year.

“I fought cancer like a lioness. And I did it,” says Beatriz Martínez, the DJ’s real name, who had been away from social media for some time. She takes viewers back to January 1, when she was admitted to hospital and began a long journey involving months of treatment.

The artist eventually recovered enough to fulfil one of her major professional commitments: performing at Tomorrowland on July 19. However, one of the most challenging stages of her recovery still lay ahead.

“After that, all I had left was a bone marrow transplant, which was very, very painful and very difficult. And I did it,” she recalls.

The relief of getting through that stage was short-lived.

“Four days later, I had my first follow-up appointment. And I had a new lymphoma — another cancer,” she explains. The news was particularly difficult to process after everything she had already endured.

“Facing that has possibly been the hardest thing I’ve ever faced in my life,” she admits, her voice breaking.

“I’ve lost all my muscle mass. I can barely move”

BJones also describes the severe physical consequences of the past few weeks. She says she has spent around two months virtually unable to get out of bed, leaving her in a significantly weakened physical condition.

“I’ve lost all my muscle mass. I can barely move. I’ve suffered so much,” she says on camera.

In the video, the DJ appears in a wheelchair and explains that Thursday marked the first time she had managed to get out of bed. Her next goal is to begin rehabilitation and gradually regain her mobility and strength.

“Everything hurts. But I’m going to do rehabilitation exercises. And I’ll be back soon. I promise you,” she says.

The artist also acknowledges the immense emotional toll of having to face the disease again.

“And, well, I’m alive, right? Although even that doesn’t make me happy right now. It should,” she says sadly.

One of the most moving moments in the video comes when she tries to put her suffering into words.

“I can’t explain the pain I’ve been through,” she manages to say before breaking down in tears.

As she shows a scar on her neck, BJones explains that she has undergone another procedure and a new biopsy, which confirmed the presence of another lymphoma.

A new treatment — and a promise to return

Despite the devastating diagnosis, BJones says a new treatment plan is already in place. This time, she explains, she will need to take medication in pill form before undergoing surgery.

“I’m going to do it,” she says, sounding resigned to what lies ahead.

On October 9, the DJ had already announced that doctors had detected another lymphoma in a different area of her head, after she had previously told her followers that she had beaten cancer.

“Accepting that all of this still wasn’t over, after everything I’d been through and believing I could finally start recovering, has been incredibly hard,” she said at the time.

In her latest appearance, the artist is still visibly struggling with the effects of the disease, but remains determined to face treatment.

“And yes, it’s lymphoma. Again. And I’m going to… Although it’s taken me a long time to get to this point, yes, I’m going to beat it,” she says.

The DJ, who has maintained a close relationship with her followers throughout her career, also asks them to stay by her side as she enters this new chapter.

“Thank you for your support. I’m going to be here more often and stay in touch with you, OK? Because I need help,” she says before blowing her followers a kiss.

Alongside the video, BJones posted a message summing up her situation and appealing directly to the people who have supported her:

“I fought it and I beat it. I can do it again, right? Life, will you help me?”
