The French superstar makes history in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs after a record-breaking public vote, receiving the award during the ceremony at UNVRS

David Guetta has been crowned the world’s No. 1 DJ for a record sixth time, setting a new milestone in the history of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs.

The result was announced during the Top 100 DJs LIVE ceremony at UNVRS in Ibiza, following an edition in which the public vote — described by organisers as the world’s biggest music vote — recorded a record number of verified votes from 234 territories worldwide.

The French artist has reclaimed the top spot after a year in which his tracks generated a further 5 billion streams. Guetta has also become the first artist to achieve 22 No. 1s on the US Dance Airplay chart.

According to figures provided by the organisers, he is also the most-streamed DJ on Spotify and remains among the platform’s 10 most-listened-to artists worldwide, regardless of musical genre.

With his 2026 victory, Guetta now has six Top 100 DJs wins, making him the most decorated DJ in the history of the ranking.

“Wow, six times!”

“Wow, six times! That’s really something! I feel incredibly honoured. It has been one of the most exciting years of my career, but what makes me happiest is seeing electronic music reach a completely new level.

“DJs are now filling stadiums that used to be reserved for the biggest pop and rock stars,” Guetta said after learning the result.

The DJ stressed that the recognition “isn’t just about me”, but about the wider electronic music community.

“When one of us does well, it benefits all of us. I’m also really excited about the new generation of DJs and the energy they are bringing to the scene,” he added.

Guetta also reflected on what he is currently seeing in clubs around the world, describing it simply as “happiness: people dancing like there’s no tomorrow.”

“Dancing again, having fun, smiling and going crazy with friends is back in fashion. To me, everything feels more authentic, and I love it,” he said.

“Becoming the first artist to win the Top 100 DJs six times, and doing it at such an incredible moment for electronic music, is amazing,” he concluded.

David Guetta’s global influence on electronic music

Guetta has played a major role in reshaping the global pop landscape and helping electronic music reach a mainstream audience.

Last summer, he performed three sold-out shows at Stade de France in Paris, attracting more than 240,000 people. The concerts featured guest appearances from Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Black Coffee, Jennifer Lopez, Akon, Bebe Rexha and Black Eyed Peas.

The French artist also took his Monolith show to Red Rocks and Coachella, as well as arenas and stadiums across Europe.

He maintained that international schedule while also hosting his two Ibiza residencies: F* Me I’m Famous! at Ushuaïa Ibiza** and Galactic Circus at UNVRS.

For visitors to Ibiza, both venues remain among the island’s key destinations for experiencing the latest generation of major electronic music shows, particularly during the summer club season.

Anyma, Charlotte de Witte and Fred again.. climb the rankings

The 2026 Top 100 DJs ranking features 13 new entries and three returning artists.

According to DJ Mag, the results also highlight the continued rise of house and techno, with emerging and established artists from both genres making significant gains in the rankings.

Among the biggest movers, Anyma climbed seven places to No. 3, while Charlotte de Witte rose to No. 6.

Fred again.. jumped 17 places to No. 16, while John Summit, Mau P and CHRIS STASSY each climbed 22 positions, sharing the Highest Climber recognition.

British house artist Josh Baker was the edition’s Highest New Entry, entering the ranking directly at No. 40.

DJ Mag campaign raises £120,000 for Bridges for Music

For the second consecutive year, the announcement of the Top 100 DJs results was accompanied by a fundraising campaign supporting Bridges for Music, a non-profit organisation and music academy based in Langa, South Africa.

DJ Mag invited artists featured in the ranking to contribute by sponsoring students from communities with limited resources and opportunities, helping them join the Bridges for Music programme.

The initiative combines music, mental health support and entrepreneurship, with the aim of opening up greater access to the music industry.

By the close of this edition, the campaign had raised £120,000, enough to fund training for 120 students at the Bridges for Music academy.
