A fire broke out in a 50-square-meter wooden house located near the Cala Llonga sewage treatment plant on Sunday afternoon, according to a press release from the Santa Eulร ria Town Hall.
Specifically, the point of the fire is located at kilometer 8 of the road. The fire was contained and did not spread to nearby homes. Two people were inside the house at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate safely without requiring medical attention.
Six firefighters from the Island Park Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and worked to extinguish the fire. The firefighting efforts were still ongoing as of 7 PM. The Town Hall has assured the public that the fire will be completely extinguished in the near future.
In support of the firefighting efforts, two police patrols from the Santa Eulร ria Local Police and a few volunteers from the Civil Protection division of the municipality were also present in case additional assistance was needed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
