Wind forecast for Ibiza and Formentera: When will it calm down?

The Aemet keeps active this Sunday the yellow warning for strong winds and coastal phenomena in the Pitiusas Islands

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) maintains active the yellow warning for yellow alert in the Pitiusas for wind, with maximum gusts of 70 kilometers per hour and coastal phenomena, with waves that can reach 3 meters.

According to meteorologists have reported in their social networks, early this Sunday morning winds of 76 kilometers per hour have been registered in Ibiza and 64 in Formentera. The storm is accompanied by temperatures ranging between 8 and 12 degrees.

The forecast is that the wind will begin to subside from this afternoon, although still for the next few days, until Tuesday there will be winds with gusts of up to 30 kilometers on the islands.

The sun will shine and temperatures will notice a slight rise from Tuesday, when thermometers may again reach a high of 19 degrees.

The Aemet announces rains at the end of the week with a probability of 60% for Friday and Saturday.

Cold storm

The snowfall forecast for Sunday have led to remain activated alerts “orange” (significant risk) in the communities of Aragon and Navarra, where significant thickness will accumulate not only at high altitudes, also at an altitude of 600-700 meters, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The communities of Asturias, Catalonia and Castile and Leon are also on “yellow” alert (risk) for snow, with the forecast of significant precipitation throughout the day, which in some cases, as in the central depression of Barcelona, will occur at 500 meters altitude.

In addition to snow, strong winds have activated the “orange” alert in the Valencian Community and Catalonia, where gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour are expected.

The communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Balearic Islands, Murcia and the Valencian Community are also on “yellow” alert (risk) for strong winds, and the strong waves on the coast have activated alerts in Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Catalonia, Murcia, Valencian Community and Melilla.

The snowfalls of the last hours have also led to the activation of “yellow” alerts for risk of avalanches in the communities of Navarra and Aragon, in the Pyrenees.
