The trailer for ‘Disco, Ibiza, Locomía’ released: “Turning an Ibizan anecdote into an international success story”

The movie trailer Disco, Ibiza, Locomíaby Kike Maíllo is now available on Internet. The date, which tells the story of the mythical 90’s band ‘Locomía’, will be presented at the 27th edition of the Malaga Film Festival and will be in theaters on May 17.

The group of friends led by Xavi Font (played by actor Jaime Lorente) arrived in Ibiza in the 80’s with the intention of going into fashion. But there they met the producer José Luís Gil (played by Alberto Ammann), in search of new talent to launch a group. Written by Marta Libertad y Kike Maíllo and produced by Kiko Martínez, ‘Disco, Ibiza, Locomía’ is starring Lorente, Ammannalejandro Speitzer, Ivan Pellicer, Pol Granch, Javier Morgade, Albert Baró, Gonzalo Ramírez, Eva Llorach and Blanca Suárez.

“I turned an Ibizan anecdote into an internationally successful group”, says the producer in the trailer José Luís Gil (Alberto Ammann). “Locomía is not just a group, it’s a family”, he explains in the film Xavi Font (Jaime Lorente), “I always knew I was going to succeed”.

The film was conceived three years ago and narrates the creation, development and final self-destruction of Locomía. The film will deal with themes such as the chosen family, the openness in relationships or the freedoms about one’s own identity that existed in that stage of the eighties.

Fifth member of the band

Blanca Suárez plays the fifth member of the band during its beginnings, a female character made invisible throughout the media history of the musical phenomenon. She is Lurdes Iríbar, costume designer and backing vocalist.

The film was shot in Barcelona and Tenerife, but has no real locations in Ibiza.
