Ibiza Comedy Club and the Santa Eulària City Council have organized a whole weekend of comedy for this 2nd year of the festival after the success of last year with Santi Rodríguez as the main star. This time this role will be taken on by Miguel Ángel Rodríguez ‘El Sevilla’, singer of Mojinos Escozíos and real showman, whose show (for 14+ year olds) will take place at the Palacio de Congresos on Sunday 19th at 8pm.

‘La vida es Rocanrol’ is the name of his show, in the same line of his usual sport in the program ‘Arusity’ on La Sexta. What does his mother think of his hair, his clothes and his tattoos, how does a guy who has a band called Mojinos Escozíos (Burnt Asses) educate his children, what does a rock star do when he has to be Body Corporate President for his apartment complex? These are some of the doubts that the charismatic singer will solve.

But the Festival del Humor starts two days before El Sevilla’s visit. Friday 17th starting at 9pm at the Cultural Center of es Puig d’en Valls, new session of ‘Humor con denominación de origen’ with local comedians José Boto and Laura Moreno, as well as Jaime Gili.

Boto, based on Ibiza for 15 years, needs no introduction. His humor refers to the Island’s way of life, to everyday things and he regularly involves and improvises with the audience. Laura Moreno defines herself as “Ibicencan through and through” and uses her character Catalina Colomar to put things and everyone in their place. Direct and friendly humor, which brings out the best and the worst in us. Finally, Gili is a Mallorcan who was a semi-finalist in the program ‘Got Talent’ in 2021. He overcame his adolescence with the surname Gili and presents us with a totally biographical show in which he tells his story of overcoming his personal failures; his separation after a 10 year relationship, the search for an apartment in Palma, catastrophic job interviews, tattoos and the process of rebuilding his love life.

Festival del Humor Saturday double session

On Saturday the Festival del Humor will have double session with two nationally renowned comedians with a long career behind them. At the Jesús Cultural Centre at 8:30pm, Félix el Gato will perform with a show for all audiences. “I do not like to disrespect, I do not like when I hear swear words or barbarities on stage, I think you have to always treat the public with consideration, because if not they will not respect you; it is about having tact because you can use the double entendre without swearing, “explains the comedian.

At the Teatro España also at 8:30pm, you can enjoy Xavier Deltell, who participated in the last season of ‘Master Chef Celebrity’ where he has shown that his skills as a comedian are light years ahead of his cooking skills. From his time in ‘Crónicas Marcianas’ to his appearances in ‘La que se avecina’, this Catalan has been performing his shrewd and direct humor his whole life in the best theaters on the national scene.
