Controversial Sant Antoni invoices: Miguel Tur and the mayor, like kids behind a curtain

Acorralado, nunca el alcalde de Sant Antoni tuvo tanta prisa para que acabara un pleno como ayer

Miguel Tur, councilman for Fiestas, entered the plenary session smiling, but it didn’t last long, and a grim expression came over his face as he sat down and began to defend himself. Since he knew he could not justify the unjustifiable, he chose to compare himself with those responsible for the previous administration: if they did the same, he’s safe. Like a child hiding behind a curtain with their feet poking out the bottom. In passing, he admitted (perhaps not realizing it) that he has given hundreds of contracts to a single company because, in his opinion, the others are not up to his standards, something difficult to prove if the PSOE-Reinicia decides to take this matter to court.

It is not clear whether Miguel Tur and his friend the mayor, Marcos Serra, lied knowingly or if someone has tricked them. Let’s see, not only did Tur forget to mention that for the Ukraine concert he split two services (quite an oversight) and that one was given to Vicente Escandell and the other to his company, Sonitec (wow, another oversight), but he also did not tell the truth: only one of the invoices (not two, as published in this newspaper) was to provide services to two performances on consecutive days, although the Ukraine event went for a much longer 12 hours. The juciest bit, the sound invoice (5,898 euros) was for a single performance. Even dividing the first bill by two, the Ukrainians only got 223 euros more in proceeds, not “much more profit”, like Tur said. Too bad no one spoke of immorality in the plenary.

“Miguel Tur has arrived with his chest puffed out instead of apologizing,” criticized Joan Torres, whom he barely let speak, like the councilor of Unidas Podemos. Because the mayor was in a hurry for it to end
