Robberies on Ibiza: another robbery of sports equipment in Can Misses, the 5th a week

The Ibiza City Council condemns a new act of vandalism and robbery last night in Can Misses-4, and will proceed to install security cameras in municipal sports facilities.

The Ibiza City Council has reported a new robbery on Monday at the Policía Nacional station of sports equipment in the municipal facilities of Can Misses, the fifth in just a week. The robbery took place last night in the changing rooms of Can Misses-4, the football fields built by the UD Ibiza next to the municipal swimming pool. According to the report, the assailants jumped the fence of the enclosure and broke the doors of the storerooms, although they only stole a bag with 20 regulation balls, valued at 400 euros, and several shirts.

Newest robbery possibly linked to others

The first investigations suggest that it could be the same group of young people who already carried out three robberies last week in the facilities of Can Misses-2, both in the cafeteria and in the changing rooms, where they stole a range of sporting material which was reported by the Club Deportivo Ibiza.

More recently, the Policía Nacional arrested five people of Italian nationality accused of several thefts of luxury watches and jewelry after stealing sports equipment from the Can Misses stadium. The security cameras installed by UD Ibiza throughout the stadium allowed the security forces to identify the perpetrators and arrest them within a few hours.
