These substances are used in various retreats, with prices ranging from 300 to 3,000 euros. Activities such as the Kundalini Activation Process (KAP) and ecstatic dance are also popular. The retreats and practices are heavily promoted on social media platforms, targeting a wealthy demographic.
These pseudo-therapies, however, raise concerns about authenticity and safety. The ceremonies are sometimes led by individuals who lack genuine shamanic credentials, with the focus being on profit rather than true spiritual guidance. The use of these substances, particularly ayahuasca, has led to incidents of arrests and adverse psychological effects. This trend reflects a cultural clash and potential exploitation of traditional practices for commercial gain.
