Porn in Ibiza, a gateway to sexting, sex as a weapon and frustration

A study conducted by Lluís Ballester and Sandra Sedano at the University of the Balearic Islands reveals that pornography significantly affects adolescents in the Balearic Islands, reducing their sexual experiences to visual, mechanical acts, eroding empathy, and posing risks such as sexting and contact with pedophiles. It also impacts body image and exposes adolescents to explicit content. To address these issues, the experts advocate for early sexual education, regulations to restrict minors’ access to explicit content, and a focus on prevention, protection, and using appropriate language when discussing these sensitive matters.
